Okay, so technically this is not Tempe. It is Sky Harbor International Airport. It sits in Phoenix, but is the most convenient way to get a long distance away from Tempe.

So, this is actually a picture of me in Paris. I just returned from a 2 month backpacking trip through Europe. Thanks to Ghostman for keeping the fort down for me. His pictures were beautiful, and set a standard, which I will try to meet.

meet Zinn, killer beta fish extraordinaire

Zinn is a fish with a desk right next to mine at work. One day I thought, in all my ignorance, that it would be nice for Zinn to have a companion. So I brought him a nice female beta. Um, yeah. The first thing he did was take a bite out of her (this was good times to some of my coworkers, not so much to others). The two fish were quickly separated (she lives in a nice bowl down the hall), with Zinn now destined to live the rest of his days in solitude.

These two brothers are super talented. They play at Xtreme Bean (Southern and McClintock) every other Monday and I think every Friday. One rocks the cello and violin, one the piano. Here they are playing one of Hayden's cello concertos, I forget which one.

Fossil Springs

This beautiful swimming hole, at the bottom of a deep valley in Coconino National Forest, is about two hours northwest of Tempe. Fed by warm springs and with a million terrific secrets, this has become a popular destination for Phoenix-area residents despite the semi-arduous 8-mile roundtrip hike involved.
